If a nation is “ a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular state or territory” and; Nationality is “the status of belonging to a particular nation” then; Nationality isn’t just what’s on your passport surely? I was born on the Isle of Wight. According to the first statement the Isle of Wight could indeed be classed as a nation, couldn’t it? So then I could say that my nationality is in fact Isle of Wightish. Then there’s the fact that the Isle of Wight is in England. Again the statement applies and therefor my nationality can also be English. But of course my passport is also correct by saying that my nationality is British, because England is of course a member of Britain. But then does it go further than that? I’m also a European and a indeed a member of the world itself. So in summary, my nationality is Isle of Wightish and/or English and/or British and/or European and/or Human/Earthish/Worldish. I t
